Employees at a steel company on Chicago’s far south side were forced out of the plant early Friday morning because of a fire.
No injuries were reported in the fire at the National Processing Company on the 400 block of West 127th Street, officials said. The fire from an oil container self-vented through the roof at around 4:30 a.m., offiicals said.
Crews had the fire out by 5:45 a.m. but were working to clean up the hazardous materials.
West 127th Street was closed to traffic between between South Eggleston and South Steweard
