Fire causes $250,000 damage at NV sail plant

Authorities say no one was injured when a fire broke out at a custom sail making facility in Minden.

The Douglas County sheriff’s office says a flash fire at North Sails Company was reported just after 3 a.m. Monday.

Seven employees were able to get out and called 911.

Officials say the initial call involved a manufacturing machine, but a second alarm was called when active fire was seen in another machinery area.

The sheriff’s office says the fire was extinguished within 10 minutes.

Damage is estimated at $250,000 to the equipment. There was also some damage to the building’s electrical system.

Authorities say an investigation into the cause has revealed no human error involved.
