About 150 employees were evacuated during a fire at the Kellogg Company cereal plant in East Hempfield Township Thursday night.
The 11:15 p.m. blaze began at an oven at the 2050 State Road plant, according to Kris Charles, Kellogg’s vice president of global communications and philanthropy.
The employees were evacuated from the plant, Charles said in an email. One employee was treated and released at the site for possible smoke inhalation.
Firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze in about two hours.
No other injuries were reported, according to Charles.
The plant was operating Friday, except for the line where the fire started.
Charles did not report a cause of the fire or damage estimate.
