Reports say over a million dollars worth of processed food products have been lost in a weekend fire at the Quality Ingredients Corp. plant in Marshfield.
According to local fire officials, the blaze was reported just before midnight on Saturday evening in the building’s drying department.
Crews, who were on the scene for about six hours, say the fire also caused about $10,000 in damage to the facility.
This is the second time in less than a year that the facility experienced fire damage. In May 2012, the plant was shut down for several days after a fire broke out near a commercial food dryer on the building’s upper level.
That incident caused about $50,000 in damage to the machine and some connected duct work.
